The last Saturday in September marks Fall Gathering Days Cruise for Life at Country Crossing Gifts & Collectibles. For the past six years, the shop has donated a percentage of its sales to the American Cancer Society. 2008 began the first annual Car Cruise to benefit the American Cancer Society's 24 hour Relay For Life Walk held at Mercer High School in June. All car entry fees and food concession sales along with ticket sales from a Chinese Auction are donated to this cause. The date for the Car Cruise this year is Saturday, September 29, 2012.
